		<description><![CDATA[It says a lot about the addictive nature of it and how we can make what used to be fun  totally unmemorable via a need for a &quot;fix, hoping to find something more entertaining then the people around us or under the business guise of trying to be busy. especially when around superiors.  I&#039;ve seen it in corporations as a competition: who will keep &quot;working&quot;as late as possible or during meals or driving.  But it really didn&#039;t start with smartphones. I&#039;ve been put on hold before while standing in front of a service desk, so they could answer a landline.  They&#039;re more afraid to lose the customer on the phone, then the person in front of them.  Smartphones just make it more pervasive.]]></description>
