Watch GWAR's Oderus Urungus burn in a viking funeral

Earlier this year, GWAR band member Dave Brockie died an accidental, drug-related death. He had a funeral not long after for his human form, performed in a relatively standard way for friends and family. This week his GWAR personal was sent to the great beyond in a way well fitting to Oderus Urungus.

The photo you're seeing above comes from Brockie's friend Randy Blythe's Instagram. Blythe is lead singer for metal band Lamb of God, a band which performed alongside GWAR more than once. "Dave is the only m*********** I know who has to get put away twice," proclaimed Blythe in his eulogy. "He's too big for one f****** funeral."

Above you'll see a video of the eulogy as well as the burning above. This video was filmed by fan Dennis Justus.

Next you'll find a video by and of artist and traditional archer Ed Harrington. He provides the bow, the arrow, and the fire.

And for good measure, here's my introduction to GWAR from the late 90's. Beavis and Butthead are idiots, but they know what's what when it comes to music. Idiot savants in support of GWAR, forevermore.

UPDATE: Here's one more video of the pre-fire preparation of the "body" for those of you that love shaky-cam. Behold, the rowing.
