If you were hoping to a sort of truce between the two Hi-Def disc formats in the form of Warner’s Total HD disc, you’ll have to wait a little while.

Total HD

The disks which are said to play on either HD-DVD or Blu-ray players have been delayed until sometime in 2008. Speculation is that they are having difficulty getting both formats to play nice on the same disc.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they are holding off because they see a possible end in sight to this format war. I’m not sure that I would be quite so optimistic about a winner being declared this year, maybe sometime next year. If one of the two standards became obsolete, there would be no need for Warner’s Total HD discs.
