Remember back in June when Warner delayed their Total HD disc format? There’s probably a good chance that you’ve forgotten about it since we haven’t heard much about it since then.

Warner Total HD

If you’re not familiar, Total HD is Warner’s answer to the format wars, the discs work in either HD DVD or Blu-ray players. It seems like a good idea because you only have to buy one disc and you know it’ll work with whichever one becomes the standard. Don’t get your hopes up though, it looks like it’s been put “on hold for now” according to Warner.

Apparently no one has jumped on board their idea, so they’re backing away from it. I just hope this battle ends soon. I imagine that after the holiday season, we’ll have a better idea of who is going to come out on top.
