Warcraft trailer gets recut in World of Warcraft

We're just under a month away from the release of Warcraft, the movie based on the popular gaming franchise of the same name. Movies based on video games rarely work out the way that we hope, as it's not always easy to translate a story from an interactive medium to a passive one. One person has decided to take a new approach to the movie, by releasing their own remake of the trailer.

While fan cuts of trailers are nothing new, they often simply reuse footage from the original trailer, or they do it after the movie has been released, and use extra footage from it. Well this particular fan decided to take the trailer back to its roots. The entire thing has been cut from in-game footage from World of Warcraft. Take a look:

I'm not sure why the creator took out all of the dialogue from the original trailer. Perhaps because the lips wouldn't have matched up, for obvious reasons. Or perhaps it was just an artistic choice. Either way, it's a little distracting when you're expecting it. However, there is an impressive level of detail in recreating the original trailer.

I'm not sure that this new trailer does much to get my hyped for the new movie. I'm still on the fence about it, and none of the trailers released have done much to instill confidence in the story, or the CGI work. We'll just have to wait until June 10th to see for ourselves.
