Wacom Bamboo Stylus fineline: a thin-tip tool for the iPad

Ahead of its upcoming showcase at IFA 2014, Wacom has introduced its new finely tuned stylus for the iPad, the Bamboo Stylus fineline. The so-called smart stylus offers a thin-tip design that aims to make digital writing and similar activities precise and "fluid".

The Bamboo Stylus fineline offers 1,024 pressure levels, allowing it to be used for things like drawing and other activities that require varying levels of pressure and precision. The tip is solid and thin, and there's palm rejection in place to help avoid errors.

The device connects to an iPad (and presumably any other similar device, though it seems targeted at Apple's slate) via Bluetooth 4.0, with Wacom saying it'll last about 26 hours on a charge. When drained, charging is achieved using USB.

The stylus is available now in Europe and on Wacom's website, where it is being offered for 50 Euros/$65 USD in five colors: orange, pink, silver, grey, and blue. For other recent news coming from IFA, be sure to hit up our related tag portal.
