So I talked not too long ago about a batch of new phones that Verizon was getting, I am pretty sure this one was on the list. Now here it is in real life with the Verizon badging junk on it.
The word on the streets is that you will be able to buy it on November 2nd, but that’s not official. But surely they should drop it sometime in November, that’s when everyone else is dropping their new holiday sales phones.
No word on price, but if the 8525 from AT&T and the Mogul from Sprint are any indication, don’t expect it to be cheap, highly functional sure, but not cheap. So start saving your pennies if you are a faithful Verizon customer, but really, by now, there are better phones on Verizon already, unless you really want or need the exact spec set that the Titan offers.
Verizon Wireless to get XV6800/HTC Titan in November? [via intomobile]

Actually, that picture was posted on engadget over 8 months ago.
Secondly, what “better” phones are currently available on Verizon? Other than the i760, which was released 4 days ago, the 6800 is far superior to their current PDA selection. In fact, the 6800 is even better in terms of specs than the i760 (double the ROM, better camera, scroll wheel, etc).
Also, considering people are picking up the i760 for $99 after rebates/credits, you shouldn’t have to save too many pennies to get the XV6800.
alright, well i stand corrected, i though the LG Voyager had already launched, so i went back and it hasn’t but it will shortly and it looks like it will be far better than the UTStarcom phone.
and the ATT 8525 is pretty close to the exact same thing, and is retailing for $350 after 2-year contract and all other applicable rebates, so thats actually quite a few pennies
The LG Voyager will be a nice toy, but it’s doubtful that even its phone functionality would be superior to the XV6800.
The XV6800 can and will do everything the Voyager will be able to do and more. The Voyager will likely be thicker than the 6800, making more like carrying a brick. The Voyager will also lack push e-mail/contacts/calendar, ability to access pdf/xls/doc/ppt, ability to add 3rd party applications, and more. There is nothing, to my knowledge, that the Voyager will be able to do that the 6800 will not.
You’re talking about two totally different consumer groups.
