VW e-Golf Limited Edition charges to 80% in 30 minutes

VW has been peddling the all-electric e-Golf electric car for a while now. VW has announced that it has a new trim line for the e-Golf called the Limited Edition model and it will go on sale starting at $33,450. VW says that the Limited Edition is nearly $2000 less than the SEL and offers the same performance and versatility.

The Limited Edition e-Golf will also be offered on a lease at $229 per month plus fees. The car uses the Modular Transverse Matrix platform as the other cars in the Golf family. Power comes from the compact electric motor and 24.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

That powertrain offers 115hp and 199-pound feet of torque. VW fits the car with standard 7.2kW charger that is capable of charging the battery pack to 80% in only 30 minutes. The e-Golf has three driving modes with normal, Eco, and Eco+ and three driver selectable regeneration modes.

An electric parking brake, heated windshield, review camera, front and rear park distance control and more are standard on the Limited Edition model. The e-Golf is rated at 126 MPGe in the city and 105 MPGe on the highway. The EPA estimates a driving range of 83 miles on a single charge.
