Vodafone Smart II offers Android on a budget

If you're desperate for a capable smartphone running Android but don't want to break the budget, Vodafone might just have the handset for you. The company has announced the followup to last year's cheap and cheerful Vodafone Smart, the Smart II. The phone has a 3.2-inch HVGA display, an 800Mhz processor, and a 3.2 megapixel camera. You won't be getting Ice Cream Sandwich on a budget though, as this device is running Gingerbread.

The handset also comes with 150MB of internal storage and a free 2GB microSD card. It's not a super slim device, coming in at 12.35mm, but hopefully it'll fit snugly in your hand since it's a little smaller than most screens nowadays. You'll get the full suite of Google apps as usual, such as Gmail, Gtalk, and YouTube, plus access to the Play Store to score some social network action with Facebook and Twitter.

Vodafone will be offering the Smart II in either dark grey or white for the low, low price of £70. You should be able to pick one up starting today. If you're on a tight budget and think this is the right phone for you, take a peek at the video below and make sure to hit up Vodafone.
