Great way to put it! This should be great for film buffs. I'm also curious to see, should this aspect ratio gain some traction, if video game manufacturers start making 21:9 options in games. That would get me excited!

21:9... If you divide 21 by 9 you get 2.33 a number almost exactly the same as 2.35 (as in 2.35:1 theatre ratio), therefor it can display movies the way you see them in the theatre with no black bars and almost no image loss.

This TV is designed for Movie Buffs not your average Desperate Housewives watcher.

Sorry my post cut off it was supposed tp be this:

DVD and Blu-Ray movies are not in 16:9 they are mostly in Letterbox format to accommodate the 2.35:1 ratio used in most movies these days. When you watch a movie on your 1920x1080pixel TV you are not getting 1080 pixels vertically of picture, you get approximately 700 of movie and the rest is black bars at the top and bottom of your scree. The ratio of this CinemaWide TV is 21:9... If you divide 21 by 9 you get 2.33 a number almost exactly the same as 2.35 (as in 2.35:1 theatre ratio), therefor it can display movies the way you see them in the theatre with no black bars and almost no image loss.

I agree, however 4k TVs are going to be a lot of money as well but it may require a long wait before you could enjoy it to its fullest (Even though the concept is amazing, along with Ultra HD with 8K resolution). If there is no one yet producing 4K content, you will be stuck with 1080p on a TV that could produce 2160p. Television only broadcasts in 1080i, DVD can only produce 720p (at its highest resolution) and Blu-Ray only does 1080p. So what will you watch on your 3840x2160 TV until someone commits to a new standard of broadcast or recording? You know how long it took for the industry to decide and implement 1080i/p? Or the format war that was spawned between HD-DVD and Blu-Ray? How long will it be before a new format comes out for your $5000 4K TV?

You will be stuck UPCONVERTING for a while and by the time 4K content becomes available...8K True Ultra HD will be on the horizon with 4320p and 7680 × 4320 pixels.

In the meantime, you can use the above Cinema-Wide TV to enjoy movies the way the director intended and at Full-Screen, with no letterbox, at the highest resolution able to be implemented at this time. You could use this TV for perhaps many years to come before a new format is accepted and by then you have gotten your money's worth of use from your $3500 bucks.
