Sounds like overkill. You can get Samsung LED TVs that size for cheaper, why would you pass up the best for vizio? They’ve come along way since Walmart, but they still aren’t Samsung. They need to price properly.

Hah! So true. I enjoy going into best buy and asking questions to the “professionals” that I know they can’t answer. If you want a real riot ask their geek squad a few good questions. A friend of mine with an actual IT degree(s) unplugged his HHD and took it in and played dumb. After 4 days they told him the motherboard was toast and it would cost 500 to fix. He made them open it up to “show him” only to point out the plug that he quickly remedied.

Great, now where does one find a video source that produces 2560 x 1080? AFAIK BD players only support 1080p (1920 x 1080) and there is no content actually distributed in this 21:9 (or 7:3 if you prefer) format. That would mean (at least for now) that the TV would have to do some upscaling (actually possibly stretching – UGH!) of the incoming signal.

21:9 is pure marketing. Vizio knows most Americans went to public schools and, therefore, can’t reduce fractions (“Quickly Brad, there are thousands of lives at stake.”) I can hear the Best Buy guy now, “Well… it’s 21:9. That’s 3 times larger than 7:3. Would you like to add on our 60 month protection plan for a mere third of a thousand dollars, our our 1,825 day protection plan for $400?? Most people go for the 1,825 plan…”

I wonder if they have fixed the pop of death. Last vizio I bought 1/15/12 lasted 4.5 minuets before it went pop, then black, and started to smoke. Buyer beware.

Should it not been called a 7:3 aspect ratio? You don’t call a SD screen a 12:9 instead of 4:3.
