It’s really an amazing thing when a newcomer can break into a market and end up dominating it within a very short time. This is especially amazing when it’s in a well-established market such as televisions. Vizio has managed to claim the #1 seat in the US in HDTV sales.
Vizio now claims 12.1% of the market share, which is a considerable lead on Samsung, who was previously the largest seller of HDTVs here in the US. Last quarter Samsung had 13.2% of the market, but with Vizio in the game this quarter, their share fell to 10.7%.
Apparently Vizio must be doing something right, hitting the right price point while still delivering high quality materials. One of my friends recently bought a Vizio, and I have to say it was quite impressive, especially for the price. Lets just hope they keep it up.
