To be clear, nothing is going to go around the world at 80,000mph. That’s faster than escape velocity (from Earth’s surface, ~25,000mph), and about 85% of Solar escape velocity (again from Earth, ~95,000mph). If there was a speaking or transcription error, and the quote was “eighteen thousand” instead of “eighty thousand”, that’s be much much closer to the 17,500mph of LEO.
