Vimeo funds High Maintenance original series

Not to be left behind, Vimeo has decided to invest in its own original series, following in the steps of Netflix, Yahoo, and others. In this case, the company has funded another six episodes for the web series "High Maintenance".

The new episodes will be made available exclusively on Vimeo on Demand, which allows users to pay to view episodes of high-quality content. These new episodes will complement an existing 13 segments that are sub-10 minutes long.

According to Variety, Vimeo has funded the new episodes, but no information is available yet on how much the six new episodes will cost. The move makes sense, considering High Maintenance's history: the web series made its debut on the video service, and saw relatively solid success.

This is a notable milestone for Vimeo, with High Maintenance becoming its first ever investment into original content. The series was created by Ben Sinclair, Russell Gregory, and Katja Blichfeld. When the episodes will be available isn't known.
