Viliv have announced pricing and specifications for their S5 MID, which will be available not only in Korea but in the US and Europe. While Korean customers will get four spec choices, starting with the 800 x 480 WVGA display, buyers outside of there will have just one main model, the Viliv S5 Premium, with a 1024 x 600 WXVGA touchscreen, Intel Silverthorne Z520 1.33GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and a 60GB hard-drive.
Full Korean and US specs after the cut
The S5 Premium has WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS, and is priced at $649 in the US or €619 in Europe. Meanwhile a version of it with integrated DMB digital TV, the Viliv S5 F-LOG, is priced at $699. Viliv have acknowledged that their US/European prices aren't as competitive as those in Korea, and have promised a "special gift" to buyers outside their home country.
The S5 will be available for pre-order in Korea from February 24th, and begin shipping there on March 3rd. Meanwhile the US and Europe will have to wait until the end of March before the MID starts shipping. Apparently Korean testers have already been trying out the S5, so reviews should be along shortly.
