Every now and then you will see a product that comes with iPod “value-added” functionality, and I’m not talking about iPod accessories. ViewSonic is jumping in with their ViewDock display series to the world of iPod. The ViewDock series display allows you to dock your iPod and uses the monitor’s LCD screen to display anything on your iPod rather than of using the tiny screen on the iPod. The display sports an 8-in-1 card reader, a built-in mic, integrated speaker, and a USB 2.0 hub.

“The ViewSonic ViewDock concept offers a unique opportunity for everyone, from teens and young adults to business professionals, to get the most from their digital devices,” said Jeff Volpe , vice president of marketing, ViewSonic Americas. “Merging ViewSonic’s established front-of-screen performance with the iPod culture will drive new standards in desktop entertainment and ignite the next evolution in digital viewing capabilities.”
