Video: Tickle Me Elmo obliterated by a jet engine

It's always fun to watch everyday items get pulverized in bizarre, unspeakable ways, and this particular episode of destruction will be even more satisfying for anyone ever subjected to a Tickle Me Elmo doll. The video is exactly what it sounds like: a Tickle Me Elmo doll, the personification of annoyance, is subjected to the unforgiving forces of a jet engine, and the result is nothing short of total destruction.

The video hails from 2014, but is finally enjoying some time in the well-deserved limelight thanks to a GIF that went viral on Reddit earlier today. If you've got time, watch the video to see what leads up to the doll's demise.

The destruction kicked off the "JetThis" series; those behind it strapped the doll to a metal post using wire, then positioned it a couple feet behind a jet engine. Flip the engine on, and the Elmo doll alternatively melts and peels away, leaving behind a plastic stump and blessed silence. Why they have a jet engine mounted to a pickup truck is another matter.

Of course, that's not the only man-made destruction captured on video. Last summer, for example, we saw a video of a manure spreader powerful enough to shred and spew an entire Geo Metro across the lawn. More recently, there's that machine that chews chunks of granite up into dust.
