At CTIA we were fortunate enough to see an Android phone that was able to run Quake. I must say that it was a fairly impressive feat, especially since it was running at 30fps. Sure, the gameplay wasn’t the smoothest in the world, but it certainly looked playable. Not to be outdone, it looks as though the iPod Touch can play Quake 3 (and one would assume that the iPhone could as well).

Quake 3 on iPod Touch

The video looks simply amazing. This guy has two iPods and is able to move around fairly well using only the accelerometer. To fire, he simply taps the screen.

I don’t know about you, but I think this looks much better than what we saw on the Android phone last week. If this is the kind of thing we can look forward to with the SDK out in the wild, things are really going to look up for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
