I have a 9yr old and he has his own iPhone 4 and a Samsung Galaxy Player 4. he doesn’t know my iTunes password so he cant buy anything. on my Android Market account I have a pin code on his device so again he cannot buy anything.

To make things even more secure, you can get one of those prepay debit cards and only load funds on it when you intend to use it. this is a good way to keep your real credit and debit cards safe from hackers or older kids who figure out your passwords.

L, sure that works with 5 year olds, but if your giving your kids an iTunes allowance and teaching them responsability then its not really fair to not know their own password. It’s much better to have a strict age rating system and parental controls in place so their eyes don’t see anything they shouldn’t be seeing. But freely download age appropriate apps, songs, and movies that they chose to use their allowance on.

Its very easy to monitor what your kids do on the iPhones or iPods. Just dont give them Apple ID password and they can’t download anything from the App store or iTunes without your permission.

You are right, but I also have to say it is impossible to monitor what your kids are doing on their iPods and iPhones every time they use them. It only takes a few seconds to download an app like this and could easily come across adult content. I am sure this will be straightened out after they update the rating or censor the videos.

Is it just me or is there a pattern of popular apps suddenly and without warning being pulled from the app store only to see or hear of such features to be offered in the next version of iOS?

People forget that with ios you have ipods, which are owned by children.

Omegel / chat roulette type apps always get banned.

They will simply need to setup submission guidelines and require login for R rated content like YouTube. Also, they might need to change the rating for thier app (ios has parental controls.)

Viddy got popular overnight (or maybe over a period of one week) because girl’s were shaking their butts or posting videos of them doing whatever it is that they do while wearing a bra and panties then tell their twitter/instagram followers to follow them on viddy. Thus, the number of viddy users shot up because a bunch of pervs who never had viddy wanted to see a free show.
