You tube is a people based website, Viacom is a giant international media corporation. Corporations such as Viacom, view the internet the same way they view everything else, as a conduit for profit. They don't like the free exchange of ideas and information sites like You tube are based on. They don't like free anything. They believe in commoditization, the way to maximize profit is to corner the market and squeeze as much profit out of something as you can. Competition, (like you tube) is acquired or destroyed. They have very deep pockets and teams of lawyers who will work for decades to achieve their goals.......This also explains why things suck so much these days.
