I agree that the more complex models might perform better than the entry-level, UnderDoc. However, I’m also concerned that the M001 – which from everything I’ve heard is more of a PMP than a MID – is being presented as a legitimate tablet experience. The downside is likely to be consumer dissatisfaction and I don’t think they’ll be so willing or able to differentiate between the models: instead they’ll compare Android MIDs to, say, the iPad and dismiss them out of hand.

Maybe deleting the M001 from the line-up would push the minimum price up to $150 rather than $100, but I think that would be worth it for ensuring a good first impression.

Chris, you are selectively quoting a typo-decorated comment on the most underpowered of the series; I am not sure that this is a correct representation of the abilities of the top ones.

I do agree that manufacturers should be more ambitious when it comes to overall power of the new tablets; were they not solely focusing on price, they could easily give current tablets a sweat for the first place, gloss or no gloss…
