I agree, you are right. However, a small correction:

-Office 2013 (its released every 3 years-2000, 2003, XP [2006... it was rushed], 2007 and 2010)

I am more wanting to hear about Expression Studio 5, and hoping they would bring back Media from 3.

And actually, when the first iPhone came out to AT&T. So many people had switched over so there is still a chance Verizon can still dominate with Windows Mobile. Sprint already has the Androids.

Every smart phone I have ever owned had a windows OS, but I will just have to get an iPhone. By the time windows phone 7 comes to Verizon, it will be time to get an iPhone 5. I really liked the idea of a phone that you could use XNA Studio develop games for. I like working with vieal studio a lot more than Xcode, but Microsoft is just too far behind with this.

If microsoft really wanted to compete and have a decent app store, the would have released a non phone version like an iPod Touch already. With a top app on windows phones making a couple of hundred dollars vs millions on the Apple app store, it is not possible to invest in windows phone development.

Any GSM network provider can offer talk+data including Tmobile.

The reason behind the delay is obvious: Why prototype / test / deploy a phone for a network that only accounts for a small portion of their target market?

LTE is the industry direction. 180 operators in 70 countries are investing in LTE, which includes 128 network commitments in 52 countries (last I checked, maybe more).

If microsoft / apple / google / nokia / RIM / Palm aren't working on developing support for LTE they'll be left behind when the LTE rollout goes into full effect.

Buying a vzw iPhone months before LTE phones start hitting the market seems a bit silly so I'll wait, Android works fine on vzw's 3G.

I should also note that you can still use voice+data while on Wifi, which is usually anywhere outside of your car. =]

Dude, have you even used a windows phone, or are you just running your mouth. MSFT doesn't care if they loose one whinny customer because a phone is not offered on a CDMA (limited) network. Of course they have been waiting for LTE to take into effect so the devices can be 4G, but looking on the bright side of things may not be an option in such a sad sad world you paint. Have you even used a Zune player?
I hope things look up for you man, I really do.
And as far as anyone should be concerned, why would we pretend like this--less than Android grandeur--release of windows phone 7 is going to have a long term effect on MSFT. They have had a windows platform for a while, big improvements starting with Mobile 5, and now with 7. I do not have an upgrade till Sept, but I for sure wouldn't buy a first release anything. Patience has been key. Did I buy a first round droid? Nope, I have the Incredible, and I love it. Which phone did I recommend my sister in law? iPhone 4. Will I switch to iPhone? Maybe. But I do not think it was a bad mover in any way to release WP7 on verizon so late? Not in the least. Look, they released first directly in competition with the iPhone on AT&T. It was a test, and we'll see.
If they can still sell any devices when there is little incentive not to buy an iPhone I say they have a chance at Verizon.

I think I finally figured out the lack of a CDMA iPhone and CDMA Windows 7 Phones.

Apple did not want to limit their phones with Verizon’s CDMA network. Consumer’s lack of understanding of CDMA networks vs GMS networks could have created the wrong impressions about the phones. Phones that can not surf the web and talk at the same time are limited.

Verizon’s CDMA network currently can not send data and voice at the same time. ONLY AT&T's GSM networks can do this at the moment. This is not a big deal for most people hense the huge increase in Android phones. But to Aplle this is huge and for Mircosoft .
that don't want any negative reviews of the Phones. Like Apple, Microsoft is betting on a data and voice future.

Also Microsoft must have all the first impressions of their new phone to be very very good and so must have came to the same decision as Apple. i.e. don't limit the phones with Verizons network. (no news is better then bad news) Most consumers would blame the phones not the network.

This is changing in June when Verizon upgrades their CDMA networks. Microsoft & Apple have not called Verizon out on this because they want them to sell their phones. Apple is trying to beat Microsoft to the party. They are also trying to stop the bleeding from the Android phones.

I don't understand the disconnect at MS. How would any senior manager there think that a late 2Q11 release on the largest cellular network in the most important market in the world be acceptable? Leadership needs to change at this company big time.

CRITICAL MISTAKE. If this releases after the iPhone, WP7 is dead in the water.

Bad move Balmer. This should have been on Verizon at launch, and now you will delay up to another 6 mos. WOW.

Too bad... I actually wanted a windows phone 7, but MSFT really dropped the ball here. The fundamentals of the OS are great. The phone is smooth and responsive. The text is clear and sharp, and it's the only choice for those who don't feel like dealing with icons all over the place. I especially love the idea of hubs which integrate the various apps and things you download. It all seemed so....magical.

I was going to have a google goggles app that integrated into the camera on the phone, be able to edit and view complex word docs on my phone, use Swype. WP7 was supposed to offer the flexibility of Android mixed with the thoughtful design and benefits of a controlled system. But alas, not so. Scarily WP7 is worse than the first iPhone.

Even though the first iphone was lacking in features, it did one or two things really well. For me, the web browser alone was light years ahead of anything on the market and the mp3 player was like icing on a three layer cake. At one point i even had a blackberry and an ipod touch just to access the web while on the go. MSFT started with a gen 1 product with absolutely no killer features. And a substantial update probably 8 to 12 months away. It's all so very very sad.

June 30 is way TOO LATE. Needs to be Q1. If the Verizon iPhone comes out first, MS should just concede the mobile market... and concentrate on Windows 8, Office 2012, Kinect 2.0, Xbox720.
