a verizon rep admitted they do know about the nexus (after i sent a b-note of how they are playing their customers and nexus followers), however, they have no release date (as of last wednesday or so). said the manufacturer has not released it to them, yet, and they have no information on when it will be ready.

Verizon managers have told me to my face and shown me their store notifications, the phone will arrive on the 8th, (or really close to that, 7th, or 9th)

People saying the phone doesnt exist, or it hasnt been confirmed are just plain retarded. This phone has been planned for a very long time, It def does exist, and it def will be in stores on the 8th.

For you all you dumbasses (pwsfinest) who try to say “there is no such thing”, you really need to go play in traffic. Do us all a favor and eliminate yourself from our gene pool asap.

CONFIRMED!!!! I just left my local Verizon store and I asked the salesman to show me the new Galaxy Nexus and…. he led me over to the area where all the phones are on display…. and…. started down the line, reading the names of all the phones, then looked back at me and I nodded and said “Galaxy Nexus”, he looked at his phones again, puzzled. Then he tells me he doesn’t think they are getting any more phones before the end of the year… SO IT’S CONFIRMED… that there is no such thing as the Galaxy Nexus!!! Because this guy is obviously smart and he’s a Verizon store rep, which means everything they say is law! So everyone post new articles, it’s CONFIRMED… this guy is an rtard and anyone who posts that their local Verizon rep knows anything about the release is too.

I’m wondering why Samsung isn’t screaming at Verizon. If my vendor refused to put my products on the shelf, I’d find another vendor. At this rate, the RAZR will have ICS before we see the Nexus. I’ve been a Verizon customer for many years and it seemed like the other carriers always got the cool phones first. Now I see why.

Apparently you don’t have very good reading comprehension because I said, plain as day, that quad-cores will allow for a much greater increase in *multitasking* capabilities. Exactly what part of that includes single apps utilizing multiple cores? Cellphones don’t multitask very well yet, quad-cores will undoubtedly contribute to the solution.

Having more cores will allow more apps to run more threads SIMULTANEOUSLY, ie, multitasking, together, giving programmers more freedom to use more resources to increase the depth of the programs you will see. Quad-core is a very big deal in the multitasking limited world of cell-phones.

You’re correct that not everything is related to gaming, but you’re fooling yourself if you think that you’re going to see a dramatic increase in anything when quad core phones are initially on the market.
While the potential being reached is bound to happen down the road, InMy is correct that (for now) it’s nothing more then a marketing ploy and there will be few, if any, apps that can utilize them

Wrong, not everything is related to gaming. You will see a dramatic increase in multi-tasking capabilities–one of the big cellphone hurdles the industry is crossing. With more cores comes the ability to process more threads simultaneously leading to a much faster, more capable device.

Furthermore, as phone specs become more powerful, developers will have to worry less and less about scarce system resources, and the Android SDK will include more and more important java libraries for development. More cores, means more processing (ie, less power being taken by system processes and other apps), which equals the ability to use more libraries, which equals more depth in development. The potential for quad-core phones will continue to open the Android OS far beyond what you see today.

I have already pre-ordered my Verizon 4G LTE Galaxy Nexus.

I went to my local authorized retailer earlier this week and reserved myself one.

The guy there said he is expecting them to ship in around the 6th or 7th. And pre-orders can get them then, as soon as the box shows up.

Everyone else has to get it on the 8th.

BestBuy will be behind the game if they arent selling it til the 11th

You are far more naive and gullible if you purchase this phone and renew your contract 2 months before quad-core phones come out early next year. it, it has never officially been announced/delayed. Not once has
Verizon given a specific release date. EVERY one of these ridiculous articles
