You should do a review of XO Skins for the Nexus. It's military grade without orange peel and hides fingerprints. I have one on mine and everyone I know who got one as well. It's too bad they didnt use stronger glass on such a nice phone.

I cover mine because I keep my keys in the same pocket sometimes. So I have the anti-glare option and there is absolutely NO sensitivity loss. It works great.

Yeah, I work at a place that sends phones out for repair. One time when we got a Nexus S with part of the screen cracked (she shut her car door on it) so I took my keys to the glass and scratched it as hard as I could. I only managed to make one tiny scratch. Assuming the glass on the Galaxy Nexus is the same or better, it should be very scratch resistant. And yes, I cannot stand screen protectors as it ruins the picture quality, touch sensitivity, feel, and look of the phone.

Anyone use the various 3rd party cases on Amazon yet? I'm wondering if the slightly different size of the verizon Galaxy Nexus phones from the European ones makes a difference in fit. Since these cases have been available for a while, but say they're for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus.

I agree. Google made a big point of mentioning that this is fortified glass. And there have been tests showing keys being scratched across the screen leaving no marks. As a reviewer of tech, Chris should know this...

I love how everyone assumes that Gorilla Glass is the top glass for screen protection. There have been many fortified glasses produced and used in devices that are just as resilient, if not more so, than Corning's solution. Videos are out showing that the Nexus's glass is as resilient as Gorilla, and it was most likely chosen due to the inability of gorilla glass to be bent.

That said, certain things can damage all forms of fortified glass: sand, gravel, etc. Basically any thing that forms an abrasive surface with small particles.

You probably don't have to get screen protectors if you don't want. I wouldn't worry about these interfering with the interface, all of the ones I've bought from Verizon in the past have worked great. But imagine your walking down the street, your phone falls out of your pocket/bag/hand and lands face down on concrete. A person behind you steps on it and drags the face across the concrete surface. Your phones screen is done.

Just like cases, screen protectors are for that situational incident that occurs. Ive never had a problem with dropping phones for any of my previous devices, but I just launched my Blackberry onto the parking lot ground by accident a couple of weeks ago and now the body is scratched and there is a chip in the gorilla glass screen. I'm sure if I still had my otterbox case and a screen protector on it, it would have been fine :(.

At the phones price tag, an Otter Box was the way to go. Sure it added a bunch of bulk but at least I know it will stay safe!

Just because the screen isnt made of gorilla glass, does it really scratch THAT easily? I had an InvisibleShield on my OG droid, and it reduced screen sensitivity so much that I took it off within a week. I still have my OG droid right now, waiting for my GNex to arrive from LetsTalk. Screen has never, ever been scratched by anything. Short of walking around with your phone in a pocket full of nails, I doubt the screen protector is necessary.
