the operating system isnt called "windows phone 7" it's "windows Mobile 7.0" i have had a verizon windows phone since windows mobile 5.0 so windows 7 mobile doesnt mean netbooks or tablets or whatever, it specifically pertains to windows mobile 7 phones. They've had windows 7 devices, but we're still waiting for wimdows mobile 7. i use an HTC touch pro 2 with windows mobile 6.5.3. i upgraded to an htc HD but i dont like the fact there's no slide out keyboard(gave it to my girlfriend and stayed with the touch pro 2). my old devices are HTC Ozone windows mobile 6.5, Motorola Q9m windows mobile 6.1, and a Motorola Q windows mobile 5. now away from cellphones i have an ipaq 111 PDA with windows mobile 6.1 and another ancient HP PDA with windows mobile CE. the NavTeq gps in my truck has a cheap embedded version of windows mobile CE. bragging or "trolling" whatever, hurry up verizon and get some windows 7

I was hoping I could look forward to a Windows 7 Verizon Phone (maybe with an AMOLED screen, SWYPE, and Global) so I won't have any Outlook contacts sync issues, etc. But, apparently Verizon just wants to have us choose from among Droid, Droid, Droid, 1 BB w/ lg screen but w/o punch QWERTY, more BB w/ classic keypads, and, oh, yeah, almost forgot, one Palm. What an amazingly underwhelming selection for me to choose from as my New Every Two comes up and I'm getting ready to finally dump my Dell Axim w/ QVGA screen (btw, still beats most 1st gen lg screen phones) to merge my phone needs w/ Windows 7. I don't see anything I want for New Every Two, so my new phone will have a blue logo on it.

I agree. I will also be dropping Verizon come spring if they choose not to carry WP7. I just now upgraded to 6.5.3 and LOVE it. I can't wait to see what 7 is going to be like.

The funny thing is I feel the same way. I'm a customer but how dare verizon try to dictate if a choice WP7 comes to their network. For a phone that just launched WP7 is the cleanest platform I ever put my hands on. I have been a blackberry user for a while and I feel RIM is taking us for fools. They do minimal upgrade and market it as big. Milking their customer base. To me that is unethical. The torch is a joke.

So wait, are they going to have Windows 7 phones or just a mobile device (i.e. tablet) running Windows 7? I am going to drop Verizon (after 6 years) if they don't announce a Windows 7 phone by mid-December.

Interesting - I interpreted it as a sign of incoming WIndows Phone 7 handsets (and just a mistake by Verizon's tweeter) but I suppose it could also suggest Windows 7 tablets or MIDs.
