good idea. pay whatever someone asks because waste management charges 4 dollars. Look back man. When people refuse to pay fees, they are done away with. Credit unions have accomadated bank members who were unhappy, by not having the same fees as banks. Netflix charged too much and everyone left. Cell phone providers offered non competitive prices and awful service, and people left (think sprint/nextel). Be stronger man. Let companies know that you are willing to pay their overhead, pay their employees salary, and offer their executives reasonable compensation, but you will not support a fee that clearly will only be seen by the guys at the top of the company in thier inflated salaries.

Done with Verizon. The economy is tough, jobs are hard to come by, and I've always thought of online payments as a mutually beneficial thing for both the company and myself. And in fact, companies have always represented it this way.
To be honest, If we were promised faster service, less dropped calls, and etc. I would support a monthly plan increase (Better service = more expensive)
But, Its just shifty business practices to try and decieve the customer into paying more for something that definitely DOES NOT cost the company even a fraction of the $2 a month.
So, with that. I am going to not renew my contract next month.
$2 little dollars just cost you 300 a month, 3600 a year, and more in the future.
EVERYONE knows never to set up autopay on a cellphone, its idiotic and I know of NO ONE who has ever NOT been overcharged atleast a few times. In the last year, I've made atleast 5 calls to straighten out billing issues. If they had already been payed, I would have lost my leverage in righting the misbilling.
And if I had overpayed them by setting up autopay, Who would I call? Theres no such thing as consumber protection in the United States. If a company screws me over, I'd like the option of calling a branch of my state police department and having the issue righted.

Lot of rambling there but basically,
Stick it to them
DOWN with GODADDY, NETFLIX, BANKS for profit, DOMINOS PIZZA, and all the other jokers

You F*** with the consumer and you don't get second chances.

All these companies pushed people into various online and electronic payment methods and penalized those who continued to pay by check, supposedly because of the cost of processing paper checks versus online payments, which are basically free to both parties. So it's not a question of covering their costs, it's a way to make an extra $2 off every customer every month.

And since when is "convenience" something customers should be penalized for? Isn't that what decent customer service is supposed to consist of, free of charge? And now we're for all intents and purposes fined for expecting it.

So wait, remember when all these companies said if we wanted to keep getting paper bills it would require a convenience charge? Now if I want to use your online service I have to pay too? How does it cost you anything at all to have me pay month to month on an online site over an auto pay? It certainly can't cost you $2 to send me an automated email telling me my bill is ready. This is just a tool to force people into autopaying so that you don't look at your bill as often and they can get away with more errors.

you would think they would have gotten the message when netflix and BOFA tried to pull this. They are going to loose business. I'd say Verizon stock should be a good one to short in the coming weeks. Once people catch wind, their stock will drop.

I can see a fee for transactions that require one of their employees assistance, after all they do have to pay for the employees and that is additional overhead. But I seriously disagree with companies penalizing a customer for self-service options like online credit card payments. That's crazy.

That's fine. I'll use my bank's bill payment service instead. Verizon can then hire additional people to process the incoming check in the mail. It will end up costing them that way.
