Can't put your headphones in and while continuing a phone discussion and refresh your inbox to review an email that they sent to you during your conversation unless you have a wifi connection, maybe? ... It's inconceivable (nay, unacceptable) not to be able to do that with a phone in 2011.

Of course, people will whine and complain when they can't talk and browse ("like dey shaw in duh commershull") over the course of a few months until the next, plannedly obsolete phone comes out this summer.

It's a total waste.

People have waited this long, and now they get sloppy-second crap because Verizon didn't make their projection.

Whatever.

This is smart of them...
Just when iOS was falling behind Android in terms of features/UI, and the Android hardware offerings really have become diverse with some really enticing, even overkill handsets.

iPhone coming to Verizon is already a reason that the iPhone loyal in many areas of the country will find appealing to switch to Verizon - this data plan now is not only additional reason for those loyal to keep from switching from an iPhone, but is a really strong reason for anyone to choose an iPhone on Verizon. Very smart!
