Gen Con Indy is  coming up, and while I’m thinking about attending, I don’t have a costume to go in. Perhaps this year I should dress up as Darth Vader. Of course, I’d only want the most authentic replica possible.

Vader Costume

This highly-detailed costume is nothing to scoff at (unless you’re not a Star Wars fan, then scoff all you like). You’ll get a jumpsuit, quilted faux leather  pants and sleeves, the Dark Lord’s cape, and side belt boxes. Yea, you’ll find that in other costumes I’m sure, but I doubt that many of them were actually cast from the original Lucas Studios molds. Then to top it off you get a device that’ll play your breathing sounds just like Vader and an FX Lightsaber to top it off.

While that costume may be as close to the real thing as one can get, it carries a hefty price tag of $850. Honestly, I’m sure that it’s a reasonable price for what you get. I’m just not going to hand over that kind of cash for it. Looks like I’ll probably just go without a costume this year.
