I forgot to mention that it does not need an AMP. Also, the only drawback with the M80 it leaks if you set the ipod volume to 3/4 ( close to max) people next to you will be able to hear it.

I sampled all the Beats by Dre and actually bought and returned the Beats Mixr by Guetta a couple of weeks ago. The Mixr is the only Beats that has a better Mids and highs, but the V moda M80 beat them all for over all balance of strong solid bass , mids and highs.... I also sampled some Pioneer that cost $350 or more and still keep me coming back for the M80.

The M80 bass is solid and tight, but it does not give you that chest pounding bass vibration that most bassheads desire for. The M80 is pretty balance all over the freq. band. If beats Mixr has the same mids and high of the M80 and retains the bass. The Beats Mixr would have been a sell out! The M80 is tuned into an even sound so it will give you a better control if you use an equalizer. If you need more bass or less bass , you can tweak it with the equalizer and no matter how you adjust it, the bass, mids, high will not over power each other.
If you increase the bass, the mids and high are still clear , but with stronger bass...
It takes 24 hours to burn it in and produce a much better sound. Tis is the best headphone for the money so far. i got a brand new one from Amazon LLc, not third parties. I bought it for $160 shipped.

I got them. Coming from IEM, these have a much fuller sound due to the bass. The bass is excellent, tight fast and heavy when required but does not spoil the rest of the sound. It is not a bass head phone but bassy for an audiophile. The mids are also great with lots of detail and a forward presentation although some claim it is recessed. The treble is detailed and sounds great but is recesssed which gives these things a warm feeling and may bother some who feel it lacks sparkle. I would like a little more however, I easily get ear shrill with too loud treble so perhaps it is good. They are very non fatiguing and have a good soundstage concidering the size and closed nature. The build is both sexy and bomb proof and I find them comfortable for hours but this depends on the individual. They are not the best at isolating but not bad by any means. I prefer these over my Klipsch X5 IEM because I love how tne drums just feel so real while the X5 you just hear it. These are a fun set of headphones that have an excellent overall balance co pared with most other consumer oriented headphones.

Not much of a review. As mentioned in the other comments, nothing much about sound quality and, more importantly for those who would consider using them with their cellphones, nothing about capability of the phones and cable-mic to handle calls... sound quality of the calls, how the mic pickup sounds at the other end... nothing... Pretty disappointing...

As someone who wears glasses, most on-ear headphones are painful after a short period of use, but if these are half as comfy as the original LPs, then I can't wait to try a pair on.

I've got a set of the old school Crossfade LPs, and they're still the best cans I've wrapped around my head. Beats have nothing on these babies.
