Then that’s pretty stupid. I’ve been using my 42″ tv as a monitor ever since I got it. They put HDMI ports on basically everything for a reason.

This seems kind of obvious to me. My TV is 46″, my laptop is 15″, which would you prefer to watch on?

The point is what are they watching through their tv. This can mean console, set-top box, computer or smart tv. As long as the screen they are looking at is the tv then they are watching using their tv.

I’m automatically calling BS on this report. Maybe the people surveyed are using a TV as a primary monitor for their computers or they surveyed only people with smart-TVs or content boxes. In either case there are far more people that use a PC/Tablet/Smartphone/Gaming System to watch online content than even own smart-tvs or set top content boxes.

Also I think these results are skewed as TVs are really nothing more than monitors until you get to the smart-tv category. And for the record, a set top content box is technically a computer. Lump it in with gaming systems (which also don’t have monitors) and then re-do your results.
