Well it is just showing that it can run, then idea would-be to stream it via hdmi to a 1080p tv…cause while some include the nvidia chipsets they all do not have a way of outputting the video.n. What else is a problem, you sound like a negative person using one concept younknow something about and trying to make it look like you know it all. The notion ink is hands down the best piece of technology coming out in the next few months…nothing coming out is comparable at all…so I just cannot realize why you are complaining about it.

How exactly is this device supposed to be playing 1080p video (resolution 1920×1080 pixels) on a screen that only has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels according to Notion Ink’s own published specification? If it is playing on a separate screen and simply demonstrating the capabilities of the device’s Nvidia chipset then it is a totally meaningless demonstration. Lots of rival devices will be shipping soon with the same chipset. Or if the video stream has been transcoded to play on the Adam, then it’s not 1080p is it? This level of hype and confusing and contradictory press releases in bad English are enough to put me off … I don’t care how good the device is, I don’t trust the company, no matter how well intentioned its young directors may be. Every new piece of news “leaked” on the net raises more questions than it answers.

i’m holding out for this to come out as well. although i fear it won’t come till early next year, which actually isn’t a bad thing. hopefully when that influx of tablets are available to consumers, NI will have enough PR/MKT/word of mouth to give it the recognition it’ll need to compete. wishful thinking though. i’m looking forward to it’s arrival though.

i don’t know.. but why i am feeling bad about my nokia’s.. blackberry’s …hp’s and…so on…. no one has ever asked me..about what i want in my product.. no one ..no one ever…just want to sold me one..without even knowing what i am looking for.. and here notion ink is asking me …telling me…sharing with me.. may be the adam get delayed more for whatever reasons.. still i will wait and will buy one for sure.. and will give back the respect which they gave me .. for being an end user

While a product like this needs the marketng muscle, I hope the Notion Ink Guys hold out until they get this and follow-up products out. I want the innovation that went into his product to spur the next level of development. It would be a shame to see the profit first sales/marketing and MBA guys kill the great ideas from coming to fruition in future.

… Which is not to say that it’s a great product. It’s really sad that this happens so often to really excellent ideas, but it’s definitely “go big or go home” these days, innit!?

A December launch, just in time to miss out on Christmas sales. I don’t see how they will be able go generate enough awareness to make an impact for Christmas.

My prediction, Adam will occupy a niche and will never be mainstream, they have come to the party too late. You are late to market boys, no first mover advantages for you.

I can’t understand why, their offering appears to be more thoughtout and feature rich from both a software and hardware perspective than any of the other competitors… I know I was looking at the galaxy tab but will be holding out for this one…

I saw that, is that supposed to inspire trust in me? That the people showcasing their product won’t go through the process of transcoding the video again to get it right? Doesn’t lend itself to a particularly motivated company. I’m excited for the Notion Ink Adam but with the competition leading with flawless advertising and global demos Notion Ink doesn’t have the slack to get lazy with their image.

It’s unfortunate that Notion Ink is small fish compared to big sharks ie. Samsung, HTC or Motorola. Money and talent is their least concern — getting a shot in big league (being taken serious) appears to be a challenge.

Rohan and his team are one of the most brilliant guys I’ve met in a long while so it’s my desire to see the company succeed and by doing so — release Adam. The NotionInk folks say on the source page: “You will find audio and video out of sync cos of software conversion from MOV format to MP4.” — so, probably more to do with the process of filming the pad than the pad itself.
