The agency model was called the ‘Net Book Price Agreement’ and it was abolished because it was actually found to be illegal, so no-one sells books at the marked price. You go into any shop or supermarket here in the UK and they’re free to sell the books for whatever they want to – so it means constant 3 for the price of 2 or better deals.

If Apple want to try and force higher prices on their already expensive machines, that’s fine by me, I’ll just keep buying physical books which are cheaper and can never ‘go wrong’ or run out of batteries.
