If loopholes exist then companies (or indeed for that matter individuals) are going to exploit them. The answer is for governments to change the rules and close them, if there’s tax they should feel they’re entitled to but aren’t getting. But tax rules seem to get more complicated each year, not simpler so if anything there are likely to be more opportunities not less. While companies answer to their shareholders and need to show improved finances each and every quarter they’re not going to pay more than they legally have to. There’s a difference between tax avoidance (legal) and tax evasion (illegal) after all. What these reports need to offer is proposals on how to change the rules – singling out particular companies doesn’t do any good, because it just takes attention off every other company who are doing exactly the same thing.

Just more divide the country with blame and hate. If the company isn’t breaking the law then people need to stop blamining them. If you had a company you would do everything to save money, this is what Apple, MS , GM, and other international companies do.

ALL the corporations know ALL the loopholes of the tax system. In fact, the best company at using the loopholes has been Apple. You want to blame people? blame the Republicans that put in these loopholes so the rich get richer and who keep talking trickle down economics and how the rich will boost the economy by throwing scraps to everyone else.

The economy is tough in the US and now they are trying to make excuses to squeeze money out of company. If they didn’t do anything illegal then not guilty! even so if they somehow get the money, it’s just going to go into someone’s pocket and not towards the country. Politics I tell ya!
