Bull$h*t. Most people generally had none of those problems, much less all of them at the same time.

It’s well known the GPS was the main issue where Google was to blame. Don’t go pretending you somehow know that “a lot” of people experienced all of these problems at the same time when all the personal reviews out there show people loving it or having little to no problem, or message boards show people having isolated problems just like any other phone. It’s f**king stupid of you to think that most people had problems with a dozen different things on one phone at the same time when most people’s experiences show otherwise.

Looks like someone’s hurt up the butt because people loved their Galaxy S, and is now resorting to historical revisionism.

I can attest to the GPS and Wifi issue. I think this was pretty widespread but I had no negative effects until I went off to college. My Captivate would NOT, for the life of me, connect to specific wifi routers around the school’s campus. The most important ones? The ones outside my dorm and inside the cafeteria.

I was lucky enough to hook up with the IT guys across campus and they worked for about 30 minutes to get it fixed (going into the server and resetting my information) but it stopped working a week ro so later. I had to upgrade to the 2 gig data plan just to use my phone (200 megs is 6.6 megs a day. Nobody can live on that).

Using a Nexus 1 now. No complaints.

The Galaxy S is a single line of handsets among a sea of various devices and so there is an obvious greater likelihood that they would be treated the same way in terms of release.

Those issues were actually unique to Samsung’s first Galaxy devices because the Galaxy S had ALL of those issues at the same time. They lost a LOT of their Galaxy fan base on T-Mobile at a time when the iPhone was an easy and still very popular and growing alternative. People took a chance on the Galaxy and got burned, just like LG is going to get burned with the G2X.

Aside from the GPS issue, which was Google’s fault more than Samsung’s because of their inconsistent contracts with a GPS company, you’re listing the most common problems for generally ALL phones out there, but trying to make it look like it was unique and ubiquitous to Samsung. Pretty shady or completely misinformed.

Well, there is also the problem of first generation Galaxy returns, and warranty exchanges, and poor QA.
The first Samsung Galaxy S from 2010, aka T-mobile Vibrant, AT&T Captivate, etc. was a disaster of a phone.You name it, it didn’t work. GPS, Wifi, proximity sensor, Kies Mini updates, camera, capacitive touch buttons not responding, freezing up requiring back cover and battery removal and much more.Meanwhile, users were trapped in a 2 year contract, and could only keep exchanging the phone for a refurbish, and get charged $20+ shipping each time, only to get a phone that was as bad or worse, and even getting used phones that were not cleared/tested and still contained a prior customer’s gmail, friends, and phone numbers from Indiana.The carriers and Samsung continued to market and sell to unsuspecting consumers, who didn’t do their due diligence by searching online for reviews and discovering all the user problems and complaints.

A wireless ‘lemon law’ wouldn’t solve the problem, but would hopefully make the players in the industry think twice before sending out garbage to the masses with no consequences.

Doesn’t anyone realize that Samsung USA is the most incompetent outfit in the industry??? Everyone already forgot the entire year of 2010, and easily dismissing the truly impressive array of bugs, broken functions and obsolete software as “carrier specific problems”… Those same carriers that managed to deal with HTC and Moto just fine. And don’t forget the fckin ticker display model!!! That argument alone could justify this situation…

Perhaps, but the original Galaxy S took less than a month to turn up in the US after its original Korean launch, and normally the US gets phones before Canada does.
