Upsilon Circuit game: die once and you're gone forever

An upcoming fantasy RPG game called Upsilon Circuit has a unique twist on death, in that it is about as real as death can get in a video game: once you die, you're gone forever. This isn't simply a perma-death, wherein the character dies forever. Instead, once you die you can never play the game again, being resigned to join the audience of spectators who watch the very limited number of action gamers battle it out.

The fantasy RPG has a single server in which two teams made of four players (8 total) are playing. These teams will be exploring the world and looking for Dream Tech Crystals, and will be faced with different baddies, traps, and the other team. All reward points, however, are sent to the observing audience.

Obviously, you can die in Upsilon Circuit, and once it happens your time in the game is permanently over. A new gamer will be brought in to take the void you left behind, and this will continue presumably for as long as there are people left wanting to participate.

The audience, meanwhile, watches the gamers while they play live, and dishes out those experience points to a gamer's skill tree, allowing them to play a part in the overall strategy, make it or break it for "contestants", and more. There's no word yet on when the game will be released, but we'll be sure to update you once we know more.
