Update from Sony: Playstation Network back online

After Sony warned PS3 owners today to step away from their consoles lest permanent data loss from issues plaguing the Playstation Network, The PlayStation Blog has been updated with a post that confirms that all services have been restored, and all PS3s good to go for the next round of gaming.

"We are aware that the internal clock functionality in the PS3 units other than the slim model, recognized the year 2010 as a leap year. Having the internal clock date change from February 29 to March 1 (both GMT), we have verified that the symptoms are now resolved and that users are able to use their PS3 normally."

Let's hope that Sony doesn't encounter anymore trouble, stranding PS3 gamers worldwide without their console of choice.  Still having trouble connecting to the PSN?  Let us know.
