Oh please will someone make something like this damn thing? I'm so sick of Wacom having a monopoly on graphics tablets; its leading to stagnation and limited choice. It would be even better if the screen could be composed of some kind of color/video enabled electronic paper (like an electro wetting display) that doesn't have to emit light into your eyes. When I draw on a tablet PC or a cintiq I really have to stop myself from the usual knee jerk reaction of kneeling in closer to the screen.

There is a gaping wide open need for a graphical artist's tablet that has both touch and stylus input. Up until now it has been pretty much one or the other. Touch for control and menu manipulation, and stylus for drawing, sketching, painting, photo editing etc. Touch is completely inadequate for fine control over graphical art, for the same reasons artists don't fingerpaint and the Wacom stylus pad is so popular.
.
Touch and stylus are also a nice division of labor - if the software designates that draw and edit motions are exclusively made by the stylus, and reserves all or most control and configuration and function settings to touch. In other words, you can touch the screen but that won't result in drawing a line.
.
So much could be done with these concepts. It's amazing to me that computers still have not made a really convincing analog to mimic the simple act of drawing, sketching, and painting directly on paper. You can kind of do it on Windows tablets, but most of those are too small, and for whatever reason it just hasn't caught on at all among artists who still predominantly use Wacom tablets rather than direct drawing on screen.

Please read the article; it says that the eight buttons are small e-ink displays, which means they could probably be rotated 180 degrees if need be.

How is OK for left-handed people? The buttons which would be located on the right-hand side would be upside down. This guy should keep trying until he gets it right.
