Twitter tests photo stickers as a social experiment

Back in my day, if you wanted to express your emotions online, you typed out a simple smiley face using a colon and parentheses. Nowadays kids have it easy, what with their emoji, and their stickers. Well, the latest company to jump on the stickers bandwagon is Twitter.

The company has started testing a revolutionary new way to edit photos on their social media platform. The idea is that you can take a picture, then spruce it up by adding stickers on top of it. Okay, so it's not revolutionary by any means, but the feature has taken off on other platforms, so it's not too surprising to see Twitter jump on the bandwagon.

What is interesting is that Twitter is toying with the idea of suggesting trending photos for people to customize with their own stickers. They say that it's to "see how other users from around the world have edited the same photo."

Right now the feature is currently in a testing phase, with an unknown number of users participating. There's no word on when, or even if the company plans to roll it out to the rest of the population. We'll be sure to let you know when an official announcement is made.
