Twitter adds OS targeting for mobile ads

Twitter has been running an advertising platform called Promoted Tweets for a while. This platform allows advertisers to send specific tweets out to users of smartphones, computers, and tablets. The company has announced that those Promoted Tweets are now able to be sent out to Blackberry users.

Along with the announcement that BlackBerry devices can now be targeted, advertisers can now also target a specific operating system. The user can now target all devices or check a box that allows them to target specific operating systems. The options include desktop and laptop computers, iOS, Android, BlackBerry, and a listing for other mobile devices.

Advertisers should appreciate being able to target specific OS users. For instance, someone advertising iPhone accessories might not want to waste money sending Promoted Tweets out to users of other mobile operating systems.
