Twitch Chromecast release live today

Televisions around the world will now be able to access Twitch in a new way. While Twitch has been available on gaming systems, Android and iOS devices connected to TVs with HDMI or Miracast, and a variety of other oddities, today things get extra Google-y. Today Twitch hits Chromecast.

With Twitch on your laptop or mobile device – in the Twitch app – you'll want to tap the "cast" icon. If you don't have a Chromecast, you'll want to get one first.

Casting will take place instantaneously, allowing you to continue chatting on your laptop or mobile device. You can continue to use your notebook or smartphone or tablet as a controller from there, if you wish. You can also move to a completely different app or window – no worries!

There's also a Chrome OS web extension update for that interface as well: [LINK INCOMING]. For those of you already working with Twitch through a different source – will you be switching? Let us know!
