Twitch bans Playroom from PS4 streams

The first and thus-far only game to be banned from Twitch from the next-generation console universe has appeared this week: The Playroom. After seeing one whole heck of a lot of non-gaming action appear though the stream with the game's augmented reality PlayStation 4 Camera setup, the folks at Twitch first gave a fair warning to the world on their pre-made rules on the subject. After much consideration though, they've decided to ban the game outright.

Fear not though, those of you looking to gain massive amounts of Twitch viewers with freebies and suggestive themes, the folks at Twitch have also suggested that they may bring the game back after a while. It's only up to the public to figure out what it really means to remain gaming focused in an app that's very, very easy to get away from such intensity.

"We removed Playroom content from the directory because a majority of it was non-gaming related. We will look into adding it back as PS4 owners become more familiar with the games-only focus of Twitch content. In the meantime, you can view all of the amazing gameplay from PS4 broadcasters in this directory page on Twitch." – Twitch spokesperson

The above quote was given to Joystiq where they also note that there is still a selection of archived streams surrounding The Playroom as such. And what a bummer it is, just as we were getting in to the really fun stuff with Toy Maker!

You'll still be able to stream The Playroom through Ustream, if that's your sort of thing, with the game ready to roll through that connected service for the PS4 without note (so far). Have a peek at our recent peek at The Playroom with Toy Maker and see what you make of it – it's all free to play on the PS4, mind you, so have at it!
