TweetDeck for OS X now supports Teams, group DMs, GIFs

Twitter users, especially those who track multiple accounts for business purposes, are likely aware of TweetDeck. The homegrown Twitter app is handy for keeping tabs on multiple items, and is now seeing an important update for the Mac client. After a succession of updates on other platforms, the OS X version of TweetDeck is now getting the service's 'Teams' feature. TweetDeck users on Mac will also see GIFs animated within the app, in-line video, and group DMs — handy for use with Teams.

Teams makes it easy to allow for multiple members of a company or PR team to watch a single Twitter feed. Those linked to the account will be able to respond, retweet, and otherwise run the account as if it were their own.

For more on Twitter Teams, check out our post from it's February launch.

Really, TweetDeck is catching up in many ways. Group DMs are not new for Twitter, launching earlier this year. In-line GIFs and video are also nothing new. Really, the update is keping the OS X client current with TweetDeck on other platforms. Why it took so long, we're not sure.

If you're interested, the update is hitting users now. If you're not already using TweetDeck, we suggest giving the reviews in the App Store a look. Seems there aren't many happy users. Hopefully the newest version can change that.
