A very Jetsons-like future seems imminent as we approach the age of flying cars, housemaid robots, and perhaps hovering houses. Being developed by Terrafugia, a company with MIT roots, the Transition is essentially a vehicle meant for the air, but also capable of being driven from your garage to the airport on a tank of premium unleaded gas. It seats two passengers plus luggage. The operational prototype is expected for 2008.
