so let me get this straight.. I can pre-order it right now and they’ll send it straight to my front door on Dec 8th, or I can wait until Dec 19th and I’ll be able to walk in the stores and buy it directly?

I read somewhere that the (previous) pre orders were still going to be filled on December 8th and would be shipping around that time. The 19th date was when retailers would have them on the shelves for you to walk in and buy.
Take this, as with all other speculations, with a grain of salt. I’m just passing on what I’ve read elsewhere. Let’s hope it’s true though.

I don’t think the idea is too much different from the TF101. Go into your retail store to give it a shot. I tried the TF101 with a stylus today, crappy generic stylus the associate let me open up though.

I’m curious as to where all these dates and sources are coming from. Newegg still has a ship date of 12/08 despite the release from Asus.

If you read the find print it says pre-orders date can chage at any time. You shouldn’t pre-order if you are about to go on vacation. PS. If you go to your local post office and tell them that you will be out of town, you can have them hold your mail for you. This is not Asus fault. When comming out with a product some times you run into things that cause it to take longer than expected. If anything was said about date it was as estimate, not a definate.

Asus fail, leaving it this close to Christmas is a massive mistake. They will loose sales as most people will want to have it in hand by Christmas day.
