"Their previous "thinnest & lightest" tablet... is yet to be released as far as I know..."

You have to remember that CES is mostly vaporware. After years of headline-grabbing announcements by the major players and disappointing follow-up, the credibility of these product announcements has become a standing joke. Apogee Digital, for example, announced a high-end microphone for the iPad at the last CES and, one year later, there's still a "Coming Soon" announcement on its Website. There are literally hundreds of other examples like this.

This year's CES will not be much different. Even though journalists know that it's mostly hype, they still need to duly publish these attention-grabbing headlines to sell their magazines, blogs, or newspapers.

Toshiba has always one of my fave companies, but boasting is all they've been doing recently. Their previous "thinnest & lightest" tablet, teh AT200 (I think) is yet to be released as far as I know, and will probably be dead on arrival when put next to the new quad core offerings from competitors. They also seem to be struggling with battery life with many models, the Thrive 7" showing some of the worst battery life scores compared to other Android tablets (forget iPads).

They had better buck up, or they risk being backed into a corner. Don't quite understand why, tbh - some of their products out in the Japanese domestic market have been brilliant.
