Toshiba Tecra W50 sports Nvidia Quadro K2100M GPU

Toshiba has announced a new mobile workstation rolling out along with other new business-focused laptop computers. The new machine is called the Tecra W50 and it is a mobile workstation with a 15.6-inch full HD resolution display. Toshiba promises that the machine is one of the thinnest and lightest designs in its class.

The Tecra W50 uses fourth generation Intel Core i7 quad-core processors and features Nvidia Quadro graphics. The notebook also has enhanced security with enterprise-focus security features. The machine ships with a built-in optical drive and is designed to be durable enough to survive life the road.

The 15.6-inch screen has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 and is color calibrated to industry standards. The notebook can be configured with up to 32 GB of RAM and the GPU inside is an Nvidia Quadro K2100M with 2 GB of memory.

The computer weighs under 6 pounds making it one of the lightest notebooks in the mobile workstation segment. The W50 also features integrated Intel vPro technology and has a Trusted Platform Module along with a fingerprint reader and optional SmartCard technology for improved security. The notebook has a backlit keyboard, dual USB 3.0 ports, a memory card reader, HDMI output, and more. The machine will launch on October 18 starting at $1999.
