Toshiba NB105 Netbook spotted: Atom, 8.9-inch screen, Win XP

Toshiba is no stranger to compact notebooks – its long-standing Libretto series is evidence of that – but the company has waited a while before unveiling a budget netbook.  Now the first details of such a device are emerging, the NB105, based as usual on Intel's single-core N270 1.6GHz Atom processor.  Update: It's not coming to the US; details after the cut.

Details are scant, but the netbook is believed to have an 8.9-inch, 1024 x 600 display, 1GB of RAM and a 120GB hard-drive.  Connectivity comprises WiFi, wired ethernet and three USB pots; there's also an SD card slot, but no sign of Bluetooth or an integrated 3G WWAN option.

OS is suggested as Windows XP, and there's a webcam of unknown resolution in the screen bezel.  No price or availability details as of yet, but I would expect to see it in stores by the end of the year.

Update: Toshiba have been in touch to clarify that the NB105 is intended only for Latin America, with no US market release planned.
