TomTom Ease announced for North America

Entry-level GPS devices are a great thing for many commuters who need a GPs device on occasion but don't want to form over hundreds of dollars to get one. TomTom has announced a new GPS device today called the Ease that is aimed directly at the entry-level user. The device sports the Fold & Go Easy Port mount and has text-to-speech.

The GPS device also features the TomTom Map Share technology to allow updated maps to be delivered. IQ Routes are also part of the Ease package. The small device is said to be the most compact TomTom unit to date.

It has a 3.5-inch touch screen and measures 3.4" x 3.6" x 1.2" and weighs 6.1 ounces. Onboard memory is 2GB and it has maps of the US preloaded. The device will ship in early 2010.
