Do you remember the last game in the Red Faction franchise? I’m pretty sure that I was still in high school when it came out, or at least freshly out of school. Well for those that loved the first two games, you’ll be happy to hear that THQ has officially announced that the aptly-named Red Faction 3 is currently in development.

The third title in the series is expected to make much more use of the GeoMod technology that was seen sparsely in the previous game. Volition is once again going to be working on the title, which is aimed to be more destructive than the first games in the series.

As you might expect, the game is being developed for the Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC. As for when the game will be launched, we only know that it is on line to be released in fiscal 2008. For THQ, that means we could see it as late as March of 2009.
