Often, my iPhone 4 has been extremely too hot to hold to my ear after just minutes into a conversation. This is rediculous!

I thought that might be the, but I routinely shut my apps down after using them. Double tap home button and apps running in the background appear at bottom of screen. Touch and app until it starts moving and an X appears. Touch app to make it disappear. The only icons left should be the iPod controls.

I have been using my iPhone with the Mophie external battery pack for several months now; and just within the past three days it has been getting hot to the touch and from full charge phone battery and external full charge my phone goes completely dead in an hour. I used to have to recharge every four days. I have disconnected the external battery and the phone still gets hot and dies in less than an hour. I have an iPhone4, 8GB model

i also experiencing with that problem. i record a video for 3 minutes and i feel my iPhone is hot. too much that cause me to panic and open the aircon.

my iphone can cook an egg, really it is hotter than my laptop. i told my friend about it and he joked on me by saying “did you vist http://www.hot.com“

Wow, that is scary, is it a review unit?

Know of any way to contact Apple and let them know? I would think they would of ran across this in tests, somewhat weird.

the problem maybe that the phone has too many built in applications that constantly take up the battery and this may cause the phone to heat up

Yes…. experienced the same thing tonight. Iphone was super hot to ear after maybe 10 minutes of conversation. Prior to that, it had not been talked on, hooked up to sync or charger for hours. I literally would not be able to continue talking if holding phone to ear. Interestingly, the bottom portion was cool compared to top (where ear is). Thankfully, it was only a few minutes before I ended convo. (deeply concerned about this as it was totally uncomfortable to perform regular phone conversation).
